Less than 10 miles east from the Pacific Ocean in North County San Diego sits the hidden gem of Vista. With the revitalization of the downtown, array of notable cuisines for your pickiest foodie, a number of local breweries that you won’t want to skip, and shopping, it is no surprise that Vista has become a hot spot for many to set down their roots and call it home.
From Alta Vista Botanical Gardens to Wave Waterpark to the Moonlight Amphitheater, there is much to do and experience that you no longer need to drive miles to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer. Much of the area offers ocean views and beautiful breezes, and you can live in smaller communities if you so choose. One such community is Shadowridge, which is still affordable, but known for luxuries like Shadowridge Golf Course. Or, you can settle down in a more rural part of Vista that provides you with land and privacy, but is still minutes from the liveliness of the town.
Check out downtown’s website that gives you a list of events, must try restaurants, and breweries to create your own afternoon of beer tasting. One of our favorites is Belching Beaver Brewery, which has a great indoor area, and delicious beer.
And don’t forget to stop in on a Saturday afternoon to visit the Vista Farmers Market that is filled with locally sourced goods
And if you were afraid that you would get bored within the city, take a look at the city’s website that gives you more information on all that Vista has to offer.
